FAQs

You will naturally have questions about us, our team and how we work.

We have tried to answer some of the most commonly asked questions here. However, if you have others, which we haven’t answered please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Yes we are independent and give 'whole of market' advice.

We believe that independent financial advice, which places no restrictions on the products or providers we can recommend produces better outcomes for our clients.

Our independence is something that we guard fiercely and that we work hard to maintain.

We specialise in working with clients who are close to retirement, want to stop working now, or who have already retired.

We will help you understand how you can turn your pensions, investments and savings into an income which is sufficient for you to live the life you want in retirement.

We have also found that with careful financial planning, many of our clients are able to retire early, often years before they originally thought possible.

We are Appointed Representatives of Vision Independent Financial Planning, who themselves are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

We are happy to meet you in your home. However, if you prefer, we would be delighted to welcome you to our office, conveniently located close to the M5 and with plenty of free parking.

We are also happy to meet you in your place of work if that is more convenient for you.

As our name suggests, we primarily work with clients in the South West and Wales.

However, if you live further afield, depending on your circumstances, we would be very happy to consider working with you.

No.

We build long-term relationships with our clients. The first time we meet is an opportunity for us to understand more about your requirements and start to get to know each other.

As such, we don’t believe it’s right that we should charge you for that first meeting.

This is the time we start to get to know each other.

We want to know how we can help, so we’ll be talking mostly about you; the financial problems and challenges you face, what you want to achieve, and your objectives.

We’ll naturally tell you more about us, how we work, how people pay for our services and answer any questions you have.

With an ever-increasing regulatory burden, plus the additional complexity of regular changes to legislation, it is now very hard for financial advisers and planners to work alone.

We are ably supported in our office by Bronwyn, who helps us with the day-to-day running of our business and general client administration.

We also use the services of Integrated Paraplanning Solutions.

Holding Chartered Financial Planner status, they provide us with technical help and expertise. This allows us to focus on understanding our clients, their needs and objectives, and building a financial plan to achieve them.
